DocSafe is built on a simple principle: your financial documents belong to you, on your device, under your control.
⚡ The short version
DocSafe collects absolutely no personal data. There are no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no accounts. Everything — your receipts, images, tags, and exports — is stored exclusively on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. Nothing ever leaves your device unless you choose to export and share it.
Data collection
🚫 What we collect
Nothing. We do not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data whatsoever.
- No names, email addresses, or account information
- No receipts, invoice images, or financial data
- No usage analytics or event tracking
- No crash reports sent to external servers
- No advertising identifiers or device fingerprints
- No IP addresses or location data
📱 On-device storage only
All data you create in DocSafe — scanned receipts, extracted text, amounts, dates, vendor names, tags, and project labels — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
This data never leaves your device automatically. You are the only one with access to it.
App permissions
📷 Camera
Camera access is used solely to capture photos of your receipts and invoices inside the app. Images are processed entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework for text extraction (OCR). No image or extracted text is ever transmitted to any server.
🖼️ Photo Library
Photo library access is requested only when you choose to import an existing image from your library. The selected image is processed on-device and stored locally in the app's data store. No data is sent externally.
Third parties & SDKs
🔌 Third-party services
DocSafe uses zero third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, crash reporters, or advertising networks. The app is built exclusively on Apple frameworks:
- SwiftUI — user interface
- SwiftData — local, on-device storage
- Vision — on-device OCR text extraction
- StoreKit — in-app purchase processing (handled entirely by Apple)
StoreKit transactions are managed by Apple. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles purchase data.
iCloud sync (Pro)
☁️ Optional iCloud sync
A future Pro feature will offer optional iCloud sync. If enabled, your data will sync across your own Apple devices using your personal iCloud account — the same iCloud account controlled by you, governed by Apple's privacy policy, and protected by end-to-end encryption where applicable.
We have no access to your iCloud data at any time. This feature is opt-in and off by default.
Additional disclosures
👶 Children's privacy
DocSafe does not collect any data from any user, including children under 13. The app is intended for freelancers and small business owners managing financial documents.
🔄 Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, we will update the effective date above and note the changes in the App Store release notes. Because we collect no data, any future change would only apply to newly introduced features with explicit user consent.
